Creating Opportunities for Women

As I greeted a client the other day and watched her walk to her car, I marvelled at her transformation since our first session – and also at the results she was experiencing in her life. This led me to reflect on coaching and its effects. With just as many types of coaching there are out there – there are types of results (if not more!)

The coaching world is sometimes centred around concepts such as:
• “Chase your dream”
• “Manifest wealth”
• “Follow your passion”

Which has been a spectacular vehicle to encourage change and open the worlds and minds of individuals.

Through this type of re-evaluation of your life and putting some clear goals and vision into place – you’re 100% more on a path than you were previously. Yes - you’ve actually pointed yourself in your direction of choice!

But I watch many frustrated individuals hop from seminar to seminar, workshop to retreat – looking for that answer – whatever it is – out there somewhere.

I even heard the alarming words from someone about their coach the other day, “I’ve moved on from him.. it’s been 3 months.”

What was this person looking for? And where was he hoping to find “it”?

The truth is that many successful superstars are hugely entrenched (this means sticking with it) in their career – and/or wealth building – using personal and professional development. And coaching is merely one of these empowering opportunities around. And it’s not just useful for success and business direction. It personally empowers both the coachee and the coach. A genuine Win-Win situation.

Taking yourself and your life seriously is important but, a good friend cornered me with the following question recently.

“So… what happens to just running on the beach or playing in the park?”

So my suggested next step is to move beyond the targeted goal of being a millionaire by 30 – (or surviving the recession) – into a journey of who you’re going to be during this journey.

And ensure that FUN has the necessary role in the life you’re “creating”. And you’ll be surprised at what other lives you influence along the way. Really surprised.

Bring the completeness back into being human.

This week's question really makes us think about ourselves and our own needs and wants. "When did you not say 'no' this week and wanted to?" Often times we are unable to say 'no', for whatever reason. We then tend to dismiss it immediately without…

I’ve been watching the series of LOST on DVD over the past couple of months and one of the (many) things that struck me was that everyone had a “story” and baggage from their previous life that came with them into the present crisis (the plane crash…

Often times it is interesting to see how other people define things that are personal to their situation. This week's question is: 'What is your personal definition of success?' I look forward to reading your answers. Heidi

This week I'd invite you to take some time out for self reflection and consider the following question: When did you last revisit the larger picture of your life? I look forward to hearing more about each of you. Heidi

I’m currently Feng Shui’ing my house (in small DIY chunks that I understand). I’ve shifted some furniture around (slightly) and moved items of certain colours into specific areas. It’s amazing how different I feel with just that! The environment fee…
