Women Can International

Creating Opportunities for Women

Yesterday we had our first event for 2009 and the group of women that came together at my house to discuss the future of Women Can and what they wanted to see us do this year, provided us with a solid platform from which to build. Of those gathered, a new committee has been formed. The new committee members are:

June Kelly
Jennifer Crossland
Janine Felt
Hayley Solich

and two others have volunteered for service once their applications have been processed.

The plan for 2009 is:

1. To continue The Girlfriend Club for 2009. On the first Saturday of the month there will definitely be an event, so please get your diary out and mark that day out so you can make sure you don't miss out. It may be a morning, afternoon or evening event, depending on what the event is.

2. To value add by offering skills workshops including social media/computer skills, digital photo manipulation, life planning/goals, health and family/household management.

3. To run one retreat to help women to "Discover their Dream", then to form partnerships to help one another achieve their dream.

For our Girlfriend Club program, I would like all members to give 12 ideas of things they would DEFINITELY want to do, not things they think others may be interested in doing. For example, I would DEFINITELY like to participate in some adventurous, outdoor activities with other women.

If anyone was interested in participating on the committee but were unable to attend the meeting last Saturday, please email me ASAP.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2009.

Regards
Hayley

PS Just to clarify, the vision for the Girlfriend Club is and always has been for the women that come to bring their girlfriends with them, as it was designed to be an opportunity to catch up with your girlfriends and at the same time extend your circle of influence by networking with other people's girlfriends as well. I you want to participate, I would encourage you to invite your friends to come with you. It is a very NON-THREATENING and supportive environment, where information and knowledge is transferred in a positive way.

Often times it is interesting to see how other people define things that are personal to their situation. This week's question is: 'What is your personal definition of success?' I look forward to reading your answers. Heidi

This week I'd invite you to take some time out for self reflection and consider the following question: When did you last revisit the larger picture of your life? I look forward to hearing more about each of you. Heidi

I’m currently Feng Shui’ing my house (in small DIY chunks that I understand). I’ve shifted some furniture around (slightly) and moved items of certain colours into specific areas. It’s amazing how different I feel with just that! The environment f...

As coaches, we’re trained to listen out for the language people use when they talk. It’s reflective of their state of mind. Perhaps you’re unaware of how you speak? And therefore of how you feel and what you believe? As a first step become consc...
